These reports help you understand your audience in a much more better way and make a lot of different marketing and product decision based on this.\n\nFull Description: http:\/\/virenbaid.com\/audience-reports-google-analytics\/\nFor more tutorials: http:\/\/virenbaid.com\/\n\nOVERVIEW\n\nWhat the report will give you is an overview of the number of users, the new users, sessions, the number of sessions per user, page views, pages per session, average session duration, and bounce rate.\n\nACTIVE USERS\n\nActive Users will show you the number of active users on your site over one day, seven days, fourteen days or the last thirty days. And if your marketing efforts have been paying off you'll see these numbers increasing with the duration of time.\n\nLIFETIME VALUE\n\nThis is a fairly new report and what Google is trying to do is tell you what is the value of your customer over a period of eighty to ninety days. So here you can see it gives me a revenue per user in the first 82 days after the acquisition. So if Day 0 is when your user got acquired, over the last 82 days the revenue per user is actually increasing. So the lifetime value of your users is increasing You can change this to other options like Goal Completion. This is for the goals that you set up. We'll get into another video where I'll teach you how to set up goals.\n\nCOHORT ANALYSIS\n\nHere what Google is trying to show you is that if a user came on to your site on 14th May, which is Day 0, 100% of your users, how many of them came back to your site on day one or day two and day three. So you can just analyze that part of the traffic that came on May 14th and say if you are running a campaign on May 16th, you can see if that campaign gave you users who kept coming back to your site and over time your goal has to be to make sure that more and more users keep coming back to your website throughout the week.\n\nUSER EXPLORER\n\nThis is something that I have rarely used. It'll show you users on your site by Client ID. Client ID is basically an ID that Google gives to each device with which your website is accessed. So from this device, there's been 19 sessions created in this selected time range.\n\nDEMOGRAPHICS\n\nYou'll get an overview of the age and gender of your audience. You can get into detailed reports as well where if you go under Age, it will show you the age group of your users.\n\nINTERESTS\n\nWhere you can get an overview of what are the topics in general that your audience is interested in. This really helps you create a lot of marketing campaigns or if you see that your users are interested a lot in Consumer Electronics or Mobile Phones, then you can create more content around that. So there are other categories you can go to. What are their Affinity Categories? And you'll get a list of a lot of categories. So this really helps in creating the content strategy for the website.\n\nGEO\n\nWill again give you language and location of your users. These are the languages, these are the locations of your user.\n\nBEHAVIOR\n\nYou can check New vs Returning users. So for the selected time frame, what percentage of users are new and what percentage are returning.\n\nThis will show you that in the selected time frame, the number of users who had just one session on your site to the number of users who had more than one sessions. And the will give you an idea of what part of your audience keeps coming back to your site.\n\nEngagement will show you the session duration of your users. How many of them stick around on your website for a longer period of time compared to the ones who leave in duration 0-10 seconds.\n\nTECHNOLOGY\n\nTechnology will give you an overview of Browser & OS. Now this is something that developers use a lot and as product managers you need to see this a lot and say you check what browsers users use your website on and if one of the browsers is Safari and you haven't really optimized your website for this and you have a lot of sessions coming in from Safari you need to start optimizing your website.\n\nMOBILE\n\nYou can also check what Devices your users use and make sure that you have tested your devices. so if Apple iPhone is the most used device to access your website you need to make sure you've tested it rigorously with an Apple iPhone.\n\nBENCHMARKING\n\nBenchmarking is again something very interesting. So what this tries to accomplish is say for example again your industry vertical is travel and you're working in India and you can select daily sessions, the number of sessions you receive on a daily basis. It'll give you an industrial overview of all the other Google Analytics accounts, maybe of your competitors, those who have the same industry selected and work in the same region. It will give you an idea of an overall industry trend as to sessions coming from social is decreasing in the industry while the new sections is increasing. So this will give you an idea around that.","thumbnailUrl":["https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/StpGkbPZWoQ\/default.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/StpGkbPZWoQ\/mqdefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/StpGkbPZWoQ\/hqdefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/StpGkbPZWoQ\/sddefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/StpGkbPZWoQ\/maxresdefault.jpg"],"uploadDate":"2017-05-23T14:44:05+00:00","duration":"PT8M22S","embedUrl":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/StpGkbPZWoQ","publisher":{"@type":"Organization","@id":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCE6_EbCVSdHTmi_dVf2QezA#Organization","url":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCE6_EbCVSdHTmi_dVf2QezA","name":"Viren Baid","description":"Practical AI for founders and operators.\nI show you how to use AI tools and automation to run a smarter business. And this week, we're going to be going over mastering Google tools. But before we get started, I want to start off with a quote, it's from Oscar Wilde, \"Experiences is simply the name we give our mistakes.\" And by going over Google's tools that they provide you, you'll be able to find errors and mistakes within your website.\n\nRESOURCES & LINKS: \n____________________________________________\nDownload the assets mentioned in this video: https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/training\/\n\nSEO Unlocked Course Playlist: https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Q_lySNxCag0&list=PLJR61fXkAx11Oi6EpqJ9Es4rVOIZhwlSG\n\nUbersuggest: https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/ubersuggest\/\n\nGoogle Analytics: https:\/\/analytics.google.com\/analytics\/web\/\nGoogle Search Console: https:\/\/search.google.com\/search-console\/about\n____________________________________________\n\nSo that way, you can get results faster. But, I want to go over a few household things before we dive in. First off, have you really done enough over the past five weeks? So what I want you to focus on now is tracking your business goals. \n\nSo now let's focus on some of the tools that Google offers to help you measure and improve your results. There's Google Search Console and Google Analytics. And we have three main lessons for you. \n\nOne of them is on Search Console and two are on Google Analytics. But this one is going to be focusing on Google Analytics. And then we'll dive into Search Console. And then we'll go back to Analytics. Time is money when it comes to SEO. You know it takes a while to see results.\n\nSo the first step in Google Analytics is going over, you guessed it, goals. A goal could be anything, someone purchasing from your website, someone becoming a lead. You want to measure anything that helps you generate revenue. \n\nAnd then pick the template that most resembles you. A reservation could be a lead, or you can end up picking someone generating a sale or someone contacting you. There's so many different options here and they provide the templates. \n\nThe easiest one is usually lets say, a destination like driving them to a thank you page. \n\nAnd then on the next step, where it says equals to, you put your URL of your thank you page. So every time someone hits that, they know that hey, you have a conversion. You'll also want to make sure once you create your goals that you turn them on.\n\nThe next thing I want you to do is track your internal search queries. Remember how a lot of people use Google to do searches. Well, the chances are you have a search bar on your website. And you want to track what people are searching for on your website, because we'll give you ideas of content to create, what you need to optimize to generate more sales as well. \n\nSo go back to Admin, and this time, I want you to click on Settings. And when you click on Settings, you'll be able to scroll all the way down, I want you to turn on Site Search Tracking. And by turning it on, and you'll see another screen just make sure you turn them all on. \n\nNow, you know you should probably offer it. Or if you're a lead generation provider, and people are searching for some educational based content, and you don't have it, you should create it, and then try to collect leads from that page. \n\nYou also want to create your own dashboard. By creating your own dashboard, you can see the metrics that are the most important to you. So in Google Analytics, go under Customization, and of course click on Dashboards, then click on Create. And then you want to create your own dashboard by coming up with the name, I like selecting Blank Canvas and then you can select the metrics that are most useful to you. Whether it's goals or people bending your funnel or exiting, you can pick all the ones that are related to driving revenue. \n\nAnd the key there is, ones that are related to driving revenue. I wouldn't create a dashboard with a ton of vanity metrics. vanity metrics are metrics that don't move the needle, don't make you money. So make your dashboard with the metrics that drive conversions.\n\nNow, last but not least, when we talk about Google Analytics, I want you to create alerts. Alerts notify you when something is happening that's good or bad. Remember, we are busy, you're busy. You don't have all the time in the world to log into Google Analytics every hour. \n\nHeck, you may not even log in every day. So by creating alerts, you can track spikes in traffic or drops or plateaus or goals going up or down or revenue going down or bounce rates going up. You can track whatever you want when it comes to your alerts. \n\n\u25ba If you need help growing your business check out my ad agency Neil Patel Digital https:\/\/npdigital.com\/\n\n\u25baSubscribe: https:\/\/goo.gl\/ScRTwc to learn more secret SEO tips.\n\u25baFind me on Facebook: https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/neilkpatel\/\n\u25baOn Instagram: https:\/\/instagram.com\/neilpatel\/\n\nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/a9yVBuk5Amo\n\n#SEO #NeilPatel #DigitalMarketing","thumbnailUrl":["https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/a9yVBuk5Amo\/default.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/a9yVBuk5Amo\/mqdefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/a9yVBuk5Amo\/hqdefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/a9yVBuk5Amo\/sddefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/a9yVBuk5Amo\/maxresdefault.jpg"],"uploadDate":"2020-06-06T14:00:01+00:00","duration":"PT7M46S","embedUrl":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a9yVBuk5Amo","publisher":{"@type":"Organization","@id":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCl-Zrl0QhF66lu1aGXaTbfw#Organization","url":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCl-Zrl0QhF66lu1aGXaTbfw","name":"Neil Patel","description":"Learn digital marketing in just 5 minutes a day.","logo":{"url":"https:\/\/yt3.ggpht.com\/4BGzw189O7AoJiYiqwpfwrv0I6gFLXp4oEK1DMjHsR4E1gs0hQs2ieXYNS3dukwsFEWdCYlI=s800-c-k-c0x00ffffff-no-rj","width":800,"height":800,"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a9yVBuk5Amo#VideoObject_publisher_logo_ImageObject"}},"potentialAction":{"@type":"SeekToAction","@id":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a9yVBuk5Amo#VideoObject_potentialAction","target":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a9yVBuk5Amo&t={seek_to_second_number}","startOffset-input":"required name=seek_to_second_number"},"interactionStatistic":[[{"@type":"InteractionCounter","@id":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a9yVBuk5Amo#VideoObject_interactionStatistic_WatchAction","interactionType":{"@type":"WatchAction"},"userInteractionCount":58974}],{"@type":"InteractionCounter","@id":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a9yVBuk5Amo#VideoObject_interactionStatistic_LikeAction","interactionType":{"@type":"LikeAction"},"userInteractionCount":618}]}],"about":["Lifestyle"],"wordCount":2389,"articleBody":"Google Analytics to track and analyze website trafficGoogle Analytics to track and analyze website traffic, tailored for an audienceAs a website owner or digital marketer, it’s essential to understand your website’s traffic and how visitors interact with your content. Google Analytics is a powerful tool that can help you track and analyze your website’s traffic, giving you insights into your audience, their behavior, and your website’s performance. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to use Google Analytics to track and analyze your website traffic, step by step.A) Setting Up Google AnalyticsSetting up Google Analytics is an essential step for any website owner or digital marketer who wants to track their website’s performance and gain valuable insights into their audience’s behavior. In this blog, we will guide you through the process of setting up Google Analytics and optimizing it for SEO.Step 1: Create a Google Analytics AccountThe first step is to create a Google Analytics account. If you already have a Google account, you can use it to sign up for Google Analytics. If not, you will need to create one.Once you have signed up for Google Analytics, you will be prompted to create a new property. A property is a website or app that you want to track. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your property.Step 2: Install the Google Analytics Tracking CodeOnce you have created your property, you will need to install the Google Analytics tracking code on your website. This code allows Google Analytics to track user behavior on your site.To install the tracking code, you will need to copy and paste the code into the header section of your website. If you are using a content management system (CMS) like WordPress, you can install a plugin like Google Analytics for WordPress to simplify the process.Setting Up Google AnalyticsStep 3: Set Up Goals and FiltersNow that you have set up your Google Analytics account and installed the tracking code, it’s time to set up goals and filters. Goals are specific actions that you want users to take on your site, such as making a purchase or filling out a contact form.Filters, on the other hand, allow you to exclude certain traffic from your reports, such as traffic from your own IP address or spam traffic. To set up goals and filters, go to the Admin section of your Google Analytics account and select the property you want to configure. From there, you can set up your goals and filters under the Goals and Filters tabs.Step 4: Analyze Your DataOnce you have set up your Google Analytics account, installed the tracking code, and set up your goals and filters, you can start analyzing your data. Google Analytics provides a wealth of information about your website’s performance, including traffic sources, user behavior, and conversion rates.Use this data to optimize your website and marketing campaigns. By tracking visitor behavior, you can identify which pieces of content are resonating with your audience, which ones are falling flat, and where you need to focus your efforts to improve engagement and conversions.Analyzing Your Content on Google AnalyticsHere are some key metrics to track in Google Analytics when analyzing your content:Pageviews:This is the number of times a particular page on your website has been viewed by visitors. It’s a good indicator of how popular your content is and how well it’s being promoted.Time on Page:This metric tracks the amount of time visitors spend on a particular page. It’s a good way to determine if your content is engaging enough to keep visitors on your site.Bounce Rate:This metric measures the percentage of visitors who leave your site after viewing only one page. A high bounce rate can indicate that your content isn’t resonating with your audience.Conversion Rate:This metric tracks the percentage of visitors who take a specific action on your site, such as filling out a form or making a purchase. By tracking this metric, you can identify which pieces of content are most effective at driving conversions.Referral Traffic:This metric tracks the source of traffic to your site. By identifying which sources are sending the most traffic, you can focus your content promotion efforts on those channels.Once you’ve identified which pieces of content are performing well, it’s important to build on that success. Consider creating more content that is similar in style or topic to your top-performing pieces.
